Summer Camp 2010 “Living Like I Am HIS,”
Praise God for his faithfulness and the favor that He shared with us throughout the 2010 camping season! The camp season was kicked off with Camp Pioneer’s first annual “Unity in the Community” picnic. The picnic, held on Sunday, May 30, 2010 hosted more than 200 alumni, friends, and neighbors of Camp Pioneer. The sun beamed and day was filled with camp activities such as: basketball, football, swimming, boating, and the zip line. Old campers were reunited and new friendships were formed as visitors fellowshipped under the shade trees, toured the campus, and enjoyed food from the grill. The “Green Team”, which included many volunteers as well as the 2010 summer staff, were on hand to make sure that everything progressed smoothly throughout the day! The picnic proved to be very instrumental as it catapulted us into our first week of camp.
The theme for the summer of 2010 was, “Living Like I Am HIS,” and the theme verse was Ephesians 5:1, “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do because you are his dear children.”NIV The individual themes for each day challenged different areas in our own lives. Both staff and campers were charged to love, speak, forgive, obey, worship, and live like we belong to God.
